Is grief good? Coach Nick Davies may actually agree with Charlie Brown on this one... let me explain. When we level up - in business, life, etc. - we must say goodbye to older, worn out versions of ourselves. We must shed our skin. We must trade our old models of reality for upgraded versions so we can expand. We know this... and yet it seems so very, very hard! Why?! For one thing, we have worked HARD to get to where we are! Why should we stop doing what has gotten us to this point? Embracing this concept might feel like taking instruction from Charlie Brown's teacher - just noise! But maybe not. When we level up from a bad situation to a good one, we are READY to shed our own skin. But when we level up from good to great, we may not be as accepting to give up our old lifestyle, especially if it is producing results. So what is that? Could we level up more quickly if we learn to shed our skin more easily? How can we navigate that process and make it more efficient? You have come to the right place! Pop into this week's #truthseekers episode to start leveling up more quickly... and listen to a message clearer than Miss Othmar's!
When I say the word "money", what's the first thing that comes to mind? Our beliefs about money come from a number of different sources: what we've been taught, what we've experienced, what we've been exposed to within our social circles, families, friends, etc etc etc. Just curious: have your beliefs around money ever changed? I'll bet they have, and I'll take the liberty of saying they can change again. And it's bound to change once you hear our conversation with this week's #truthseeker's guest Randa Hoffman, owner of Radiant Wealth Planning, LLC. I challenge you to think about what new empowering belief system around money could improve your life as you listen to our conversation with Randa. Randa is the first person I have spoken with that has expressed money has its own frequency. After allowing this concept to swirl around and settle amongst my other beliefs about money, I realized something: she's right! And wait until you hear how she weaves this new belief into an exercise called Mind Mapping....
If you do nothing, your life doesn’t stay the same. It gets worse. To stay sharp, we must always be growing, learning, and in pursuit of something greater than ourselves. That’s what #truthseekers is all about! When you think of SIMPLE SECRETS OF THE SUCCESSFUL, there’s nothing new we don’t already know! This podcast is a reminder of the principles from which we tend to stray when life gets busy or when we get too hard on ourselves. Today’s #truthseekers discussion talks about the importance of staying sharp, even as we enter the latter stages of our professional career, and into retirement. Though Coach Nick mentions he sees himself as retired RIGHT NOW, it’s a great reminder that without a plan… without a meaningful existence… our physical, mental, and emotional health is liable to disintegrate. The driver of today’s topic of WELLNESS is Dr. Michelle Fritsch – a board certified, doctoral trained health professional who has developed a process to help create a clear, rock-solid plan for long-term health, function, and fulfillment. She is a specialist in medication use in people over 60. She is founder of Retirement Wellness Strategies and cofounder of Propel Comprehensive Wellness supporting a transition to health in retirement and beyond. She works with a broad definition of health – physical, mental, emotional, spiritual, and social. She is also co-founder of Medipreneurs providing support, innovation, and a place to thrive for healthcare innovators. We enjoyed this one! Come engage with us in this week’s discussion with DR. Michelle Fritsch.
The more we suppress our feelings, the more we lose ourselves... you become a stranger to yourself - you try to please others. And you are training others to not pay attention to how you feel because you don't pay attention to how you feel, because you suppress how you feel." This is how we live as our "authentic self". It starts with becoming aware when the above situations are occurring, and since over 50% of our communication comes from our body, it always knows when we are betraying our authentic self. During this week's #truthseekers Coach's Corner with Jon Zieve, we get into very specific detail about how to navigate this process. What a difference it makes to know how to live authentically!
The world is changing. So why are you still selling like it's 1899? ...or 1898 to be more precise. As this week's #truthseekers guest Peter Strokorb says, the traditional sales funnel was developed in 1898, and many people still use it today! But perhaps there is a better way...Are you ready to hear a new approach? Are you ready to not only make more sales, but to connect on a deeper level with your clients? Are you ready to be treated as a Subject Matter Expert in what you are most passionate about? And most importantly, are you ready to STOP feeling like you are trying to convince people to buy from you? Ok good - we have a guest on this week's episode to show you how. Let's do this - please enjoy the many nuggets in this week's conversation with sales professional Peter Strokorb!
We think we want control, but is that really true? Control over what? All the things that happen to us? This doesn't sound like a very winnable game to me. In my experience, life is at its best when I take on the form of water - molding myself into whatever is happening around me. That way, I can choose to enjoy my life, no matter the circumstances. As you listen to this week's #truthseekers guest Leniece Lane, you'll notice she has 2 great endeavors she is equally passionate about. However, as she tells her story, see what you notice about how it started out and how she got to where she is today. Our journeys are never linear. We think we know what we want, but as we try to fit life into this box of how we see things for ourselves, it just doesn't seem to fit. Something amazing happens, however, when we take on a new perspective of what is happening around us to "let it be easy" - we take ourselves out of the equation. And since we have given up control, all of a sudden we have it! Watch this week's episode and you'll see what I mean...
How do you measure opportunity cost with your actions? Have you ever analyzed the return? What if there was a more efficient way to spend your time? Would it be worth it to slow down and check in if it resulted in you spending more time on the things you love to do? Whether you are a business owner, a salesperson, a leader, or a boss, we all have our limits with DIY DIY DIY DIY DIY DIY DIY DIY DIY DIY DIY DIY DIY DIY DIY DIY DIY DIY DIY DIY. At what point do we take that abundance and narrow our focus? This conversation is so important because we achieve different levels in our success. At each new level, we are required to change the things we focus on in order to LEVEL UP again. This week's #truthseekers guest Trinity Furtick talks about leveling up in business in congruence with systematizing things that no longer require us to DIY. Automating parts of the business allow us to spend time doing other things that bring a greater return. You may already be doing some of these things, but listen to what Trinity has to say about what unexpected opportunities can pop up once time is spent on more focused things. The return is not 1:1 - it is exponential!
Do you wonder...? That's it, that's the question. When was the last time you took pause to marvel at something? To think about ALLLLLL the things that had to fall perfectly into place for something to exist... to thrive... to "be"? The further we get from childhood, the less it seems socially acceptable to realize all the miracles - all the beauty - happening around us. Of course, if you are an avid listener of #truthseekers, you know this is unacceptable! To play like a kid is a major success principle of the most successful people in the world, especially the ones who are in alignment with their passions. Speaking of which... we #truthseekers are so excited to introduce Jeff Krukin to our listeners this week! When Jeff Krukin was a child, he would lay on the grass in the back yard at night and gaze at the Moon, so wanting to be there. Space exploration, settlement, and development are in his DNA. This is the fire in his soul, the passion in his heart, and the impetus for a wide-ranging professional journey. We have had a number of entrepreneurs on the show over the past 18 months, but this is our first "space entrepreneur". We invite you to listen to what Jeff says about the one thing it takes to get through tough times, how our domestic space programs are doing, and of course, what sort of contact has humanity made with extraterrestrial life (ha!). And so much more... We enjoyed this convo and know you will too...
Ahhhhh life is tough, ain't it? The 2nd Law of Thermodynamics (the Law of Entropy) states that the general tendency of the universe is to move from order and structure to lack of order and lack of structure, and downright chaos. It is only our individual EFFORT that makes it possible to reverse this flow. Taking ACTION can improve our lives. A lack of ACTION does not mean our lives will stay the same... according to the Law of Entropy, they will indeed get worse. People spend a lifetime trying to get their own shit together! So how can we even talk about high-performance teams? It's hard enough to identify the effort required of individuals to improve their own state. Where do we even start to talk about how to turn a group of people/employees/teammates into a high-performance team?! Well it's a good thing we have Garret Harrell! This week's #truthseekers guest lays out the principles. Isn't that a funny thing?! People are vastly different, we can agree - but the principles remain the same. What does it look like when everyone is bought in to a common mission? What's the difference between unengaged and disengaged? How do we know a team is "high-performing"... and what sort of things can a high-performing team produce that are even greater than what one individual is capable of? You'll just have to tune into this week's episode to find out!
For the first time I feel like I'm doing what I'm supposed to be doing." Before you even meet this week's #truthseekers guest, Brian Esposito, you can already feel the purposeful conviction in his language. Now, hopefully you don't have to go through the trauma of a head-on car crash in order to make drastic changes in your life like Brian did, but there is something Brian's story can teach us about our most difficult challenges, in particular how we can use them to stop accepting a life less than what we truly, truly want and less than what we truly, truly deserve! "I needed a near-death car accident to shake me enough to make a move and change things. Life is precious, and if you're not doing what you love... you need to start making some really tough decisions to prepare yourself to be on a path that makes you happy... that makes you want to jump out of bed in the morning... that makes you want to go out and attack the day with a smile on your face!" So what the heck does that look like? "I built this wonderful ecosystem of all these companies working with each other, sharing resources, sharing IP, building real value, and it's.... GREAT!" You don't say! Brian now maintains over 75 entities in his holdings across 25 different industries, and is involved in over 150 joint ventures around the world.
